Another little Ta Dah!

This is another doily that I made a few weeks ago. It's actually four motifs joined to make one square doily. I found the pattern in a magazine published by Rowan called Winter Kids. I used a cotton and acrylic mix made by Rico, it a nice yarn to work with, not too hard and not too soft. I think it looks great on the white table in the kitchen.

But, it looks just as nice with a jug of white roses.

It's my birthday today. I'm another year older but not any wiser. So, I will post about my lovely presents later. See you then, Lor xx

A little Taa dah!

Here is a little hooky happiness. I made this a few weeks ago using scraps of Rico Essential cotton, which I use for edging the dishcloths.
I did a little scalloped edge on it.
This is a close up of the stitches. I got the idea from an old Ikea magazine and thought it would bring a nice bit of colour to my bedroom.
Its a colourful doily which is going to look good on my bedside cabinet.

Hot off the needles

This is the yarn. Scrummy colours?
I bought this lovely sock yarn at Jeans Wool Shop on the Creagh Road in Belfast. Its from Opal and the colour is called Fischer.
These are the finished socks. I finished them on Friday night. I think I will give them to Lou, she loves the hand knitted socks that DM made for her.

This is a close up of them. I don't know what it is about using fine yarn and fine needles, but I really enjoy it and my tension always looks lovely and even.
This is the toe. The pattern I was using had a very strange way of finishing the toe which, I didn't like so I used the pattern that DM uses for finishing these toes.

I have quite a few more Taa Dah moments to show, so I will be back soon. Lor xx

It's been soooooooo long!

I cannot believe how long it's been since I last posted on my blog. Shame on me!

I's not as if I've led such an uninteresting life, there's been lots of things happening. It's just that blogging came very low on my list of priorities.

Anyway I'm back with a really boring photo. It's my first harvest of potatoes. They were dug up on Sunday and they went down really well with roast chicken, minted peas and carrots, all washed down with a little glass of white wine. Yum...

Fingers crossed I will have more time to blog in future.

Bye for now. Lor xx
